Horn went off while I was driving

I did a search and some people had issues with the alarm system. But it sounded like the horned beeped a few times for them. For me, it started honking and stayed on steady until I pulled over and shut off the car. When I restarted it, the horn was off and stayed off. I didn't notice what other lights or indicators might have been lit up.

Any suggestions as to what I should check?

"sounds like" you might have a short in the horn circuit or a bad horn relay. The "some people folks" were because their security system took over for one reason or another and that could be caused by something as simple as disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it without pushing the security system button to turn it off after reconnecting the battery.

It would be possible to hold the steering wheel incorrectly and the horn button would be depressed while driving down the road. When I do that, it usually startles me and I jump and then re-grip the steering wheel differently.

Seriously, I would start by looking up the horn circuit on the wiring diagram and see what I need to check.

Hopefully it won't happen again... was just a fluke!

I checked the service manual and it isn't obvious where the relay is. It looks like the damn rear speakers. It looks like I will have to pull apart the entire car to get to it!
