windshield wiper noise
My front driver's side wiper makes noise like it is hitting the windshield post. I have repositioned the arm on the splines and even bent the arm a little. It occurs for about 6 of 10 cycles, skips 4 or so and then again. By careful observation, the blade isn't hitting the post. Anyone have a clue?
Its been doing it at least since 55000 miles. Ken |

I would take both arms off so that just the posts are spinning to see if the noise continues... If it still makes the noise, it is either the linkage under the cowling, or something in the wiper motor.

No, in the last 55,000 miles he has had to use his wipers six times. This has happened all six times . . .
Ken - Are your wipers parked at 'Normal' or 'Winter' position? See if changing this helps any. Dan |

The car will turn over to 200000 miles next week. I have put on 150000. Currently the wipers are in the winter position, but it happens with either position.

My last set of blades started making a distinct "whack" and at first I thought the same thing, that it was hitting the roof pillar. What was actually happening was the blade was turning over, so to speak, when the wiper travel reversed direction, which caused a sort of slap against the glass. New blades cured the problem.
