Well, I have heard of top hat washers, but castle nuts go right over my head.

My local hardware store carried the castle nuts I needed when I swapped steering racks. I would assume a store in your area with a wide assortment of nuts and bolts would have them available.

Talking

It's the crenellated type, John. I was just kidding around.

Look at the exploded in the following link:

http://www.subaruparts.com/diag/?mod...category=347-B

Keep a note of the site, you can find part numbers for nearly everything.

You will see on that page they have 3 kits, including a seal kit, cheap.

One note of warning/care.
You need to check the part number is correct for your car. This site is US, and certain parts are not the same. You can check it by submitting the part number to your Sooby dealer, with your chassis number. With that information, he can check if the part # is "good" for your car.

Shore 'enuff, the track rod ends are shown, but not the nuts.

BTW, how you get the part numbers is to click on the number entry, say 39 for one of the kits. It puts that item into your "cart" and runs up a tab for you, and you just note down the part number.

Clear enough?

Joe

Joe

just to follow up on the week's events, picked up more of my parts yesterday and gave my contact the part nos you sugested and true enough the kit is available at about £50.00, I also priced the front top strut as the last part of the jigsaw to complete the front end revamp, at £90.22 + vat!.....each, any pointers on that one.......can the bearings be replaced or the unit remanufactured, being a Yorkshire man I'm very resourceful.

Should have bought a Nissan Micra

Micra?

John, we are a long way from Kansas now, Toto.

Can't help you with struts.

My Plum is suffering from rumbles in the front over bumps of late. I have not even checked the cause, as I am going to be fettling Black Betty as my everyday transport soon. Maybe if it has front end rattles, I will have to look into it!

Can anyone else help John? Sounds like he has been in Scotland too long, and has learned the value of a penny.

To late Joe, looks like he is beyond help.

You had better get to the doctor quick with your plum, sounds nasty
