Peter Brocks picks top 10 sports cars of the 90s...

and believe it or not he put the SVX in the line up (although at #10).

It's in the Sports Car International magazine, Nov 04 issue.

For you younger members of the forum Mr Brock was the designer for the Cobra Daytona model - to see what a beautiful (IMO) & kick butt car he designed go here:
http://www.ritzsite.net/AC_Cobra/07_cobra.htm

Here's Mr Brock's words (for those who can't/don't care to find the issue:

"One of history's great unknown classics, the SVX is the poor man's Porsche 959! All-wheel drive and a flat-6 engine in a handsome body that missed being perfectly done by just a few slightly miscued lines. The designers of the SVX swung for the fence and narrowly missed. The SVX was just too far ahead of its time."

So what other cars of the 90s made Mr Brock's top ten list?

McLaren F1, Porsche 911 (993 model), Mazda Miata, Ferrari 550, Nissan 300ZX, Ferrari Testa rossa, C5 Corvette, Superformance Cobra, Porsche Boxster.

Finally. Nice to be recognized by the auto press. I sent a couple of letters to EVO magazine a while back asking why the SVX wasn't on ANY of their lists. Never got a reply.

Watch the price of SVXi rise! Guess I better put on my shades next time I go for a drive.

JK of course! Very cool to see our car in such very exotic company!

Along the same lines I was perusing a mag today; "Makes & Models (yummy models BTW! ) and it had a nice feature on the Merc300SL "Gullwing" as well as numerous others. I was thinking how cool would it be to see a spread featuring the SVX!! Mine isn't cherry enough to qualify, but was hoping someone else, aka Earl, might be a great subject for a feature. Volunteer?

I'm warning you young Studs now, this mag could be hazardous to your attention span.

What's wrong with the Miata? It's a real sports car. I wish I fit in one.

Geeze, how tall are you?? I am 6'3" and I fit in them. Especially the new body style, they are quite a bit bigger. The older ones are a squeeze.
