The Yankees won a HUGE one last night.
I disagreed with Torre's use of Cano in center field and selecting Wang to pitch tonight. I guess that's why he's the manager and I'm not.

Cano's use in centerfield? I guess Johnson is pitching game 3?...Chicon will be the 4th starter im assuming since they moved small to the bullpen.

Congratulations to all the Astro fans out there is SVXland.
The last nine innings of that game were quite riveting and shows what baseball can be.
Good luck against the Cardinals.

Looks like another late night for me & the Yanks. I'm getting too old for this.

Sorry, I meant Bubba Crosby. I guess that I'm very very impressed by Cano.

I personally think the Angels will pull it together at home tonight. Thats what I'm hoping for at least because rumor has it that cashman is coming to the phillies if they dont win the world series

I'm not very confident about the Yankees chances tonight, either. Bartolo Colon does not usually pitch two bad games in a row, and he did not have his good stuff for his last outing. I think that the Yankees have to score in the first or second inning to win this thing.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Mike Musina.

Ed Wade Has Been Fired As Philadelphia Phillies General Manager!!!!!!!!!!

Ed Wade was present at the press conference. He got REALLY defensive about stuff. The moron still thinks he did a great job. All those bad long term contracts and you still think you did a good job you ****ing moron!! Jerry Hunsicker the former Astros GM is a philly native and good friends with David Montgomery. I think he or cashman is going to get the GM job.

Why are Phillies fans awesome?.....8,000 - 15,000 fans wrote in to the front office that if Wade is retained they will never buy a ticket again. I am happy to say I was one of those people

Well thats all she wrote!! Angels win the series 3-2. I got what I wanted...an angels vs white sox ALCS. This should be great to watch. And Mr. Cashman and Mr Jerry Hunsicker please pack your bags for philadelphia

Obviously, the Phillies management understand dollars and sense.
I don't know if Cashman is a good fit for the Phillies. Theo Epstein (GM of Red Sox) might be better.

The turning point of the game last night was when Crosby and Sheffield collided in the outfield. That 'triple' turned the game around. It's an underststement to say I'm disappointed.

I expect that the White Sox will win in 6 games maybe 5.
I also expect the Cardinals to win in 6.

As I've said before; I would love an Astros vs White Sox World Series. To me that would be the most gripping drama and most likely go 7 games.

I think I'll root for the Astros for the remaining games. They are plucky, and I like that. Also I can commiserate with Preston Sides. He is a longtime SVXer (70+) who resides in Houston, and is reached only on the Yahoo SVX site. Too bad the Astros don't have alot of hitters on their team.

Good Luck with the Phillies next year.

I will be going for the Astros due to Clemens and Pettitte being there

Sucks we lost last night but at least we didnt get swept like those a#$clowns in bastan

We have our impeccable record to fall back on no matter how many years we lose the Yankees are and always will be the best team in baseball

You can thank Choke-Rod for not coming through when he should have. Signing the big time free agents aren't always going to help you win. Happens in the league all over. You need role players who are going to come in and do their job...then the super stars don't have to do everything. Every single team thats won a world series has the role players. The yankees don't. That roster needs major overhauling this winter. Starts with the bullpen...and the fact they need to get younger.

When the Yanks won in 96 & 98 each player knew his role.

Just check this series to see how many Yankees were left stranded on base by A-Rod and Matsui. I believe that Matsui stranded 8 out of 11 last night.

I knew we were in trouble last night when Jeeter led off with a single and he died on second base in the first inning.

I'd also like to protest the call at first base stating that Cano ran outside the lines. They never showed his feet on the replay.

It looks as though Gerry Hunsicker is the front runner for the GM job although he hasn't interviewd yet. He is the guy the fans want to see hired. Brian cashman, Jim duquette as well as Dan Duquette and John hart are among the other names. Monty said he wants to hire a big name. If amaro JR or arbuckle get hired for the GM job there will be an uproar in philadelphia. They need to go out of the organization for this. Dallas Green's name was also mentioned
