Grabbing mail

Mailman "NICE. I haven't seen one of those in YEARS. I love them"

We talked about them for a few mins. I'm glad they fired our old mailman. He was a grumpy man.

They didn't fire your mailman... They sent him to Tacoma WA years ago! We got him!
Speaking of grumpy, this guy is so mean that when we got a new keyed safe mailbox because people were just driving down the street, stopping at the row of mailboxes, taking everything out and driving on... You can see the row of mail boxes at the end of our street where it was on the graphic attachment. We put a new pedestal one beside our fence in front of our house and he refuses to deliver our mail.

Does that sound like something your mail guy might do
Glad you got rid of him anyhow!

I can barely wait for my gas station virgin comment. Although, there was another Bordeaux running on this small peninsula for years just until christmas, the locals don't care.

SVX is the only car I've been in where you can actually see out the back window when you're checking your blind in a roundabout. The visibility is fantastic. I've driven my car for one day and two small sessions and I already love it. Maybe 40-70 km/h is not so funny, the car just can't seem to find a comfortable gear..or the wheel noise is so negligent you actually hear the engine (I'm on spikes). But this effect also makes it feel a bit alive... or maybe I should just check my transmission oil.

Re: Comments you hear

Best one was going through a Chik-fil-a drivethrough. The gal at the window was young, probably a highschool student working a summer job so kind of 'unrefined' in how she interacted with customers.

As I pull up she does a doubletake and changes topic midsentence, "That'll be five thirty-daaaaaaaamn, your car is off the chain!!"

Coolest I've felt in my whole life.

I guess these parts are expensive after all?
A couple balljoints for our cars cost more, FYI.

$160 for an alternator is cheap for most cars.

Re: Comments you hear

Recently I had lunch with a group of friends. As my fiancé and I got into my SVX (92) my one friend said something. I rolled down the window to hear what she said. My friend goes "wooow" at the window. Then she saw the seatbelt move and was really surprised. She was more fascinated by the seatbelt than the window.

There is a young girl that works at DQ here in Frederick that drives a Bordeaux. The first time I saw the car I went inside and talked to her. Then a few weeks later I went through the drive thru. She was like "OMG I have the same car!" I said "I know, I already talked to you about your car". She remembered and asked me if I ever took my car to the Subaru Dealership in Frederick. I explained that what work I won't/can't do myself I take to an amazing mechanic in WV...his name is Tom. She just said "oh".

My mailman recognized the SVX too. He's probably wondering why I'm missing one from my driveway.

Re: Comments you hear

The best comment I ever had was when I stopped in a small town to gas up (Putaruru for you other Kiwis) and this wide-eyed kid, about 10, stops his bike and goes "WOW! Is that a Ferrari?".

One of the young guys that works for me is annoyed at the moment because his new girlfriend likes my car more than his 400+hp Evo, she refers to it as the "spaceship car" and keeps pestering me for a ride. (she's a 20yo stripper)

Stripper? Not sure you could trust her. My sons car was stolen a couple of years ago by a stripper and they only left the shell. I wouldn't personally risk it.
