Actually driving with the HIDs was a huge improvement!
Like Di said, I'm sure someone will drive it and give their own opinion of the effectiveness.
Hi Tom,

Long time talkin to u... . I am in for 2 sets, BTW have you compared these with Silverstars 9005 bulbs, just curious, ofcourse HIDs look way different than SS in terms of brightness, but not sure about the color output??

Thumbs up lights

Have you checked out the HIR bulbs? Have them in both of our SVX's, Legcy GT, and Mk V11 LSC.

Did you turn off or did you not turn off the flash?
It seems that I can see your flash on the roofs.
If you turn off the flash, your pictures might be pretty blurry.
Taking night pictures especially at outdoors on digi cam is pretty tricky.

You need to make a video clip of high spd nite driving with the HIDs on SVX this weekend. There will be many help sure it can be done.

Yes, let's see:
72.81/ avg 100 = 72.81* 60 = 43.68
Oh yes, I can be there abt 43mins

OT, you know how much desire I would like to come
and autox your supercharge
but just double check my schedules - I have more schedules
than I thought from the above post. Fri night, Sat night and
Sunday closing night. I do need to make some scratch for
my bills. I might call you and say Hi - what time do you think
you guys will go to bed on Sat night?

favorite part

when i first got my svx i bought silverstars, and was very disappointed, expecting an "HID" look, but it wasn't much better at all, and for $60. WASTE. and u can't return them if u try them. yea, HIDs FTW and 6000k is perfect for daily driving, lots of light, but still a hint of blue, to look a bit exotic. and you may have noticed the 'rainbow effect' when u see a car with HIDs from far away, and they look purple, and when u get closer they are actually white, I see it a lot on BMW's and RX-8's. its the projector housing that does that, same on the SVX. pretty cool, our cars were made for HIDs they just didnt know it at the time

oh yea, my favorite part of my lights is the burst of light when u first turn them on, like to blind my friends with that

If Tom gets his kits in by this weekend, we may put a set of HID's in the polo. Otherwise we will do it on Monday or Tuesday,

Currently I am running the PIAA Platinum superwhite bulbs 85W, powered by a new factory alternator which cranks out a consistant 14.6V, and shining through crystal-clear, pristine stock lenses.

I have plenty of light already.... but...
I'll probably take a few photos before and after the swap for comparison.

I just spoke with Dave.
DHL THINKS they are on a truck in PGH, or maybe he'll get them Monday.
I am getting eight sets to start.
If they show up today or tomorrow Dave will bring them to me.
If not I should have them by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.
More later.
