I was supposed to upload the pics last night, or show Tom how to upload them, but I had an emergency call from my sister and brother-in-law who were broken down about 45 minutes east of my house and needed to get back to Pittsburgh last night and couldn't get a rental car. I took them my silver SVX and then had them drop me at home, so I didn't get a chance to get back on the computer.

Hopefully tonight.

Pics (not the greatest)

These pictures were taken in our driveway, so it's hard to see how much of a difference there is. We need to go out to the middle of nowhere and take more pictures, but HEY, WE'RE BUSY TRYING TO GET READY FOR THE BIGGEST MINI-MEET OF THE YEAR.

This is Christine, with the 9005 upgrade. They are already much brighter than the stock headlights.

This is Tom's claret, with the HIDs installed. The light is much whiter AND brighter, but as I said, it's hard to tell when they are aimed at a garage door 10 feet away.

Front view of both cars together (the HIDs are on the left.)

After the weekend, we might find time to take some better pics.

Wow, they look already brighter and more like HIDs. Do you have any car with Sylvania Silverstars 9005?? that would be a better comparison. BTW is Christine having Silverstars 9005 or just 9005 conversion (they doesnt look like Silverstars ). Will check with my Silverstars and see if I can see any noticeable difference in color .

THANKS Diana for taking time to do this....

You'd have to ask a Tom (OT or n00b on demand) what brand the 9005s are. I think they were already in Christine when we bought her.

It's also somehow darker, and more contrasty. Were you futzing with the photos in photoshop? And were you using the exact same camera settings in manual mode, or were you shooting on auto? It's very difficult to get a comparable picture without consitent settings, and that just won't happen on a point and shoot.

Sorry, Tom's idea of technology is putting a POINT on the end of a stick. I have no idea what settings he was using, it does look like he turned the flash off for the second photo. The camera is a little complicated.

As I stated, they're not GOOD pics. Tom did not want me to post them at all, but the public shamed me into it. (You know who you are.) I will post better ones when we have the time.

We are not trying to mislead anyone, believe me. Anybody who shows up this weekend can probably drive Tom's car and see for themselves.

Picture box was set on auto.
I did turn off the flash.
I did not notice untill the next morning the Claret with the HIDs was pointed slightly to the right.
Its a two bay garage, and they were taken at the same time at the same distance.
The pictures do not do justice to the lighting.
Actually driving with the HIDs was a huge improvement!
Like Di said, I'm sure someone will drive it and give their own opinion of the effectiveness.

Whew, looks like I got away with that "cave man" analogy!
