Wink Randy, the Grand High Exalted Poobah

Now, how did you know that was what I was considering changing my title to - or something extremely similar. Rats. Scooped again.

Bill

He's just getting sensitive to slagging, check out my post to Pockets on the Technical forum under Wheel hubs and bearings.

This extra sensitivity can be a sign of advancing age, or, it could be he is in a sweeter frame of mind, now his SVX has a working SVX transmission. Life is good, feelin' no pain.

You gotta be quick around here sure enuff.

Joe

Gee, sensitve? Me? Well, I guess I am something of a "softy" sometimes. And, yes, life is good with a real, honest to goodness working SVX transmission. Now, let's hope that the "singing" I've been hearing from one of my tires (oops, that's tyres to you Joe), is not what "we" think it is.

Well,

you know I can't talk about trannies, I'm still driving around with 1 gear.

However, last week, the tyres that came on my car, Japanese Dunlops were changed for Sava tyres. These are so quiet and smooth in comparison[the Dunlops roared] That the car is now singing happily at the back.

Should I worry?

Joe

Like me, you might make plans to "isolate" where the singing is coming from. If it's the "thing" (I'm not going to say it out loud, for fear I'll speak it into existance), then, it's best to be prepared before the singing becomes a groaning.

Oh, I'll come up with something appropriate, never fear. Maybe I should be glad he picked something so common and obvious.

Car is due our National Car Test at the end of the month, I'm hoping they may well spot and note which wheel it is coming from. My current guess is right rear, it's not loud, but it's there.

Since I got the car in February, I have fixed a lot of original problems, warning lights and so on. It will be a unique experience to drive it when the gearbox pulls top and the bearing is fixed, wind noise is really quiet in this car.

BTW, that link you gave me for Blanton's has a bad e-mail address on it. I have not been able to contact them. There are loads of links on the site, and reading it has given me an appetite for some flavours of Bourbon[And I notice JD is not a bourbon, but a sourmash whiskey - interesting]

Yeah,

He could have picked Member of Members and we'd have had to point out the error of his ways.

Yes, something about the name "sour mash" just doesn't sound as palatable as "bourbon." And, as proven by the great Smoky Mountains "taste off" ISN'T as palatable.

Well, you don't have to worry about that one. My wife points out that error on a regular basis. It's when she laughs when she points that's disturbing.
