Arrow Changed Tranny fluid & filter

Yesterday, we changed the ATF & Filter on my 96 with 95k miles. First of all the pan was a B****! to get off. It was definitely never taken off, still had the orange adhesive from factory. Anyway the magnet in the pan was loaded with sludge, and mostly in one corner of the pan. The filter was dirty and full of silver slime as well. Scraped all the old gasket off of pan and tranny, cleaned everything up real nice. Sprayed all the linkage with CRC cleaner and bolted the pan back up with the cork gasket that came in the kit. Got 8 1/2 quarts of fresh Amsoil Synthetic ATF in. What a difference. Shifts like butter thru all the gears. Prior to the change it still shifted fine, but it is noticeably better now. The filter was still original, and like I said the pan was never dropped. Now Im installing a B&M cooler on it. Remember this car has been sitting for the last 4 years, only 500 miles in that time, and that was when I drove it home. Its been a work in progress to get it on the road, which should happen in the next few weeks.
