Thumbs up Rebuilt Boxer Engines Everywhere

I was doing a safety inspection yesterday at a place in Memphis that rebuilds diesel engines. They told me they had just started doing some gasoline ones as well.

Imagine my surprise when I came across all of these boxers. This is a photo of just a couple of the finished ones. They were everywhere. I saw them coming in on one side where they are disassembled ... then processed ... and out as shiny new boxers. This place was doing a class act on the rebuilds. I was impressed. They are just doing the 4 cylinders now but will soon start on the sixes. One of the guys said "the V-6s will be here soon." ... of course he got a little lecture from me on terminology.

These will be official Subaru Factory Rebuilts.

When Subaru started the reman short blocks they begin with the ej25 sohc blocks and then included the ej25 dohc. If they do start to reman 6 cyls it will be the ez30 and not the low production non selling parts for the eg33 SVX. Subaru knows were the money is and it's not with SVX owners.

That didn't take long to figure out!

Yes, they are doing both the SOHC and DOHC 4 cyl now ... and I'm sure we'll never see our 33's coming out of there.
