You're very welcome Paul.

Most of what I'm saying is conjecture and rational deduction, a la Trevor.

Unfortunately SFAIK we have never discovered any paint codes for the wheels, nor do we have chassis number break points after which colours change. It is hit and miss at best.

The best way to get the hubcaps the same colour is to spray them with the wheels.

Best of luck with it.

Joe

One note of caution. My own '95 car is the older Liquid Silver with black roof. So I would expect as that is the older model it should have had the older Argent colour rims, just like on Black Betty.

If you are planning to buy either hubcaps or replacement rims, I would suggest the only way to be sure your rims are the new batch [aka "Silver", yeah?] would be if your car is the later production phase 11, with colour all-over Burgundy or Polo Green and with OBD11.

Or put it another way, if you have a black roof your rims may naturally be Argent colour.

[even then be careful, no guarantee]

What is an OBD11 car?

OBD stands for Onboard Diagnostics. The earlier cars 92-95 (with the coin holder) are OBDI cars while the later ones without the coin holder are OBDII cars. There other ways to tell the difference but as far as I know this is the easiest way to tell.

Re: Stock rims - 2 colors?

I thought i'd hijack this to ask what people think of the stock wheels powdercoated black, especially on the pearl white version. How black? Flat? Gloss? Satin?

Thanks!

Re: Stock rims - 2 colors?

Stock wheels should be as silver as you can make them. Except not chrome, chrome cheapens the look.

I'm not a fan of black wheels on the SVX. Black wheels tend to "disappear" under the car.

The SVX looks purposeful because it has an aggressive stance. You can't determine the stance of a car if you can't see the wheels. The reason touring cars [in European racing I mean] and circuit racing cars look aggressive is because you are aware of the big wheels and the need for grip.

Painting the wheels black and making them disappear is counter-productive if you would like your car to look striking.

That's just my opinion, I've said it before, so feel free to ignore.

Joe

With exit pipes like that, what happens when you back into a curb?

I can't exactly talk, mine stick out about an inch, but jeeeez.

Am I not seeing this right?

Re: Stock rims - 2 colors?

This isn't the best picture and I haven't painted/installed the center caps yet. I kinda like it with out them anyway though. I went with Mirror Black, I'm very happy. IMO this is the best color for the stock wheels with the two tone paint.
