Welcome to the network!
Much luck with the odd PS problem. Maybe you need to bleed the rack?

Hey Kevin,
It will be OK man. I started out with a bad tranny, half shaft, broken camshaft, and a leaking water pump. I would advise you to take the SVX to a shop that can remove the bolt. Worst case is that they will need to but a helicoil in. To remove the internal tranny filter you need to remove/loosen a hard line. It is really scary to do but it is fine. The line will not break and is in there a little tight. I am still nervous when I change mine. The car is not cursed it is just initiating you into the world of maintenance of the SVX. Steve

One thing with the power steering fluid...Make sure you dont overfill it. If you do, the extra can and does find it's way out.
As far as the rest...Welcome to the world of Subaru SVX.
