The "touring" version (LS-L/LSi) has road speed-sensitive power steering; I believe all others have engine speed-sensitive assist.

I believe it's just the LS-L (92/3)

Darrell is right....LSI 's had speed sensitive steering all the way to the 97 M.Y.

92 SVX Man, your 92 LSL has speed sensitive steering, also known as ECP/S

Steering

I will start by Thanking you all for posting Information on steering. Now i must say that my Crankshaft pulley has come apart, looking under the hood I found the Pulley had come off the rubber and moved back to the timing cover. If it was not for bad luck I would not have any luck. Once again Thanks to everyone.

The exact same thing happened to my car not even 2 weeks after I bought it. You need a new harmonic balancer/pulley, cost me about $500 including labor.

Even with labor, five hundred dollars sounds mighty steep. A new crank pulley runs $148.13 + shipping from Subaruparts.com.

Same thing happened to my 84 Vette. It was actually cutting its way thru the timing cover. If I hadn't caught it... that'd have been bad.

Agreed - that should take, what, an hour to replace?

This, by the way, belongs in the Tech Q&A forum.
