I may be alone on this one, but all the CF hoods I have seen have had excessive gap on the sides. It looks like they don't fit properly.

i've seen i belive 4 different CF hoods on svx's and they've all fit fine

the problem with the scoupe on the CF hood is that it is WAY too small to function for any purpose, the opening for air is only about 1/2" tall, the wrx scoupe is like 2-3" tall

I haven't seen the C/F hood in person, but they looked fine in the pictures I've seen of them.

Yeah, functionality-wise the C/F hood scoop wouldn't do anything. The fact that it doesn't stick out much is why I like how it looks on the SVX, the taller ones would stand out a bit too much IMHO.

is motorsport the only available C/f hood?
it says on their page for it that it might not fit the
factory hood mounts and such......
does anybody have a picture from the side of their
car with the c/f hood?

I've got a couple shots from different angles, but they're at work...I'll try to post them tomorrow for those that wanted to see them.

Here is a diffrent angle...I didn't take any side shots, will try to set it back on the car tonight and get one.

Also, it would fit flusher with the hood once its attached...

I must say that I am not a fan of non-functioning, stick-on hood scoops. Nothing looks more like rice. The only scoops I have seen that I like on the SVX are the carbon-fiber/fiberglass hoods with the built-in scoops but their lack of functionality has always left a bitter aftertaste once the sweet looks have been swallowed. I do agree that if one could install a tranny cooler in an SVX scoop or figure out how to duct one to be a functional intake scoop, then my opinion would change to one of pure positiveness.

I do have a couple decent dings in my hood and have been considering getting a carbon-fiber hood to replace it with. If I do go that route I will definitely investigate the possibility of installing a tranny cooler in it.

Whether functional or not...

I prefer the SVX unadorned, the way God intended.

it's lined up with the grill so it doesnt look as good as if it were to have no scoop in the grill ya it wood look bad a$$ if you had no scoop in the grill so if you have the grill filled in than just think of it as a yes but with the grill lined up with it it doesnt look good

Well, I think it adds a "Muscular" look to it, there are many cars that incorperate a non-functioning scoop jut for the looks, that are not "Rice" in my opinion, such as the Mustang, the Z28, Z24, TA, OBS, Outback RS, ect....the fact that it is a Subaru style scoop makes it look as if it "could" have come out with one, where all the other style scoops I've seen look "out of place" on the SVX...

I actually painted it to put on one of my other cars,...but think it looks good on the SVX, and might get another one for it....
