Deck Install Before Speakers?

Is it a total pain in the butt to install speakers after installing the deck? My funds are limited, and the stock speakers I have are still working, but I will probably upgrade them in the next 6 months. Is it double the work to install the speakers after I install my new deck given the circumstance?

Depends on if you're going to install an amp as well.

Actually once you've replaced the deck once taking it out again isn't much of a hassle.

You can always run a remote lead and an RCA back to the trunk as a "just in case" if you really want to avoid having to remove the head unit a 2nd time.

Edit: which I forgot to do on my head unit install, and now will have to do next Tuesday to get my amp and 12" sub installed.

you can change the deck now and change the speakers later without doing any double work.
you won't have to touch the deck when you install new speakers. you just use the existing speaker wire, you don't have to rewire anything. If you plan on an amp then like they said just run the RCA cable and the power lead back there now while you have the deck out.

I wasn't sure if you were calling the rear shelf that holds the 6x9 speakers a deck.

depends on if you are good at that kindof stuff or not. If you don't have svxdc's wiring harness then you might be in for a few hours while you figure out what wires connect where on the new deck.

Go to best buy and buy an amp wiring kit for about 40 bucks....It has the ground wire, RCA cables, fuse, and battery 8 gage cable. And yes, run the wiring from the deck to the rear of the car unless you want your amp somewhere else.
