How to read a VIN # ?

I have seen bits and pieces about reading a vin. Could someone give me a full vin rundown on how to read a vin ?

If you go to the How-To Documents, you can look under SVX Information and you will see How To Read the VIN. I hope this helps. There is another one there as well.

9 - (check digit used to verify accuracy)

H - Automatic AWD built in Japan

http://www.cars101.com/subaru/vin.html has a write up... it isn't the greatest, but it something.
