Sad Sad site

This morning as I was randomly driving, I look twords Lee Miles Transmissions and to my dismay i see a Pearl Green being backed up on a flatbed into the shop (if the owner of that car is reading this, I will say a little prayer for you and your baby). Then the thought comes into my head... "how much to install a tranny cooler". So i get out and talk to the guy and he's like ATLEAST $200 to install. GOD DAMN $200??? I check another random shop down the block and they want $300. Am i missing something here??? Should i be paying for anything other then labor since I have a B&M waiting. From my understanding, its like a 2hr job for a compitent mechnic so what are theese fools thinking wit $200+

Are you sure they understood you already had the cooler and just needed it installed? The costs they quoted you sound like they were including the price of a new cooler, since I paid right around $200 for parts and labor when I had mine done.

If they really were just quoting labor, then they're definately asking way to much.

You're in Brooklyn, NY so the labor cost per hour will be higher in your area than other parts of the country. My repair shop charges $72/hr for labor time - but I live in central VA.

Actually im in the Bronx, not like it matters. But the guy at Lee miles said the cooler would be like $25, i told him i had one and Then he said about $200. BUT luckly i spoke to a friend, his mechnic charges $50 an hour, and he's been going to the mechnic for years.

ouch

I had the B&M installed on my SVX for $60 and I paid like $60 for the cooler, so $120 total. When i did it on marisa's SVX i did it myself. Its really not all that hard, and take a couple of hours. Not bad really.
