Hey Ron,

Your sense of period styling eclipses your sense of taste. This is a 1981 motor car.

No offense taken, if I was easily offended, would I be corresponding on this Forum?

BTW, the 200SX and Supra were hairy chest medallion man cars. The Murena is two thirds as big, about the size of a Mazda Miata. The seat is about 4" off the ground, so you sell it if you get arthritis.

Joe
Uhhh...1981 you say? Oh, then let me say "Wow, very advanced styling... Will probably be copied by those clever Japanese craftsmen someday".
Yeah, that's the ticket. We Yanks don't see a lot of Matras around these parts. Mantras, Mantas, sure but... Uh, where do these Matras come from? Czechoslovakia? Oh, that's Skodas. Now I'm really confused again. I'll go stand in the corner now. Ron.

Welll... If you really wanted to disect it like that, I guess it would look like they put the front of a 308 Dino GT4 on to the back of a 1g Mazda RX7 and then put them aluminium cast wheels from a DeLorean under it. But I still like it.

3, a breast

is just a figger of screech.

Only time it comes to hand is when the car has three dollybirds aboard.

Will try to find pics of the seating, and if Admin can't fix the jpeg thing, I may be able to attach an image with the right address.

Thumbs up Code Red worm [in tequila]

Actually, Ron and 249,

You are both near enough in the similarities.

The Murena does look a bit like a late 80's Supra in the nose, it has that "wedge" or chisel shape. Not that fond of it, to me the bonnet should have a bulge[yeah, even if the engine is in the back]. The rear quarters, which I like a lot, is most similar to the Ferrari 308 GTB [as in Magnum]. It's often been described as a mini Urraco also, and there is a resemblance, the car was definitely designed in the wedge era.

The Matra company is a French missile and aerospace company. The Czech connection, are you mixing it up with Tatra, those wonderful big air-cooled rear engined saloons? Nice motors.

Joe

I believe the Matra & the Tatra were featured in the movie "Dirty Dancing". Tsu.
