Reading 18 dates

.
We are behind schedule for picking dates for Reading 18. Here are the potential dates (in bold) that are being considered. Trying to address weather concerns as well as school exams, graduation, etc.

April 14-16 is tax weekend.

April 20-22
April 27-29
May 4-6

May 13 is Mother's Day

May 18-20

May 25-27 is Memorial Day weekend

If we missed any big events that would make proposed weekends harder for members to attend please post your concerns.

Once the dates are decided upon, we can pick the location, whether Morgantown or elsewhere. There will be a separate poll for that later. This poll will close around the end of this month.

No preference from me but then I don't have an SVX anymore either. I just really enjoy coming to hang out with y'all.

Anytime in May is better for me. April is pretty much a nightmare when you do payroll AND taxes.

Re: Reading 18 dates

Because of possibly moving the Duryea Hill Climb back to June, We are now considering having Reading 18 sometime in June to have it as an event with the Pagoda

We are waiting on confirmation and dates before we proceed.

Should be warmer weather and free of scheduling conflicts. The latest Reading ever

Stay tuned for more details

UPDATE:

As of November 20, 2017, we are still waiting for more news.

Initially, this is not the way I would have done it. Everything would have been settled by now...

I hate to point out the obvious, but is a hill climb a good idea for our transmissions? Svxfiles sorted my transmission out, but if I had a standard issue 92 transmission, I'd be very afraid of a hill climb. Otherwise, whenever it takes place, I'll be looking forward to it!

Exclamation Re: Reading 18 dates

.
For most of us, the hill climb may be a spectator sport, more so than being an active participant.

The most obvious problem to me is that we don't even have a date for this event, and so we don't have a block of rooms reserved for us, as with past Readings.

If this is going to be a serious national event in Reading, I am sure that its popularity for that weekend may cause rooms to become scarce very soon.
While there may be many hotels in the area, it would be nice to know we have a designated place to have in advance.

In the past, a secured block of rooms was available six months ago.

You won't be able to participate with a stock street car.
