Question Radio/Stereo Lights

I have a friend with a SVX that has some of the lights burned out (?) in the radio/Cassette portion of his deck. Does anyone know or can anyone show me how to replace the lamps in the radio? I've looked through my manuals and found the removal steps.(which I passed by when I swapped the other stereo out of the pearl) But there is nothing on disassembeling the unit itself.

I'm pretty sure that you just pop off the faceplate (with the unit out of the car) and the bulbs are right there.

Don't quote me, I haven't been in there in a while, but I remember being surprised at how easy it was.

I've posted on this a couple of times.

First of all, yes, you pop off the face plate and the bulbs are right there, but, they're in recepticals that are soldered to the circuit board. You would have to remove the circuit board by unsoldering the connection at the bottom of the radio (the CD player is easier. One screw in the center of the board and slide the board forward). Then, you'd have to unsolder each receptical, replace the bulb (much like the procedure for changing the switch lights with new bulbs, if you buy replacement lamps), and then, resolder the recepticals and resolder the circuit board.

WOW!

I'll print that out and give it to him... (he's not going to be happy) I think if the lights go out in mine I'll just get a flashlight!

How about the lights behind the shifter location lights in between the Ripem meter and the speed 0 meeter... are they the same? my drive light is out... (luckily the car still goes forward without the light!!!! )

You'd have to ask Lwin about anything to do with the dash lights. He's been there, done that.
