Wiper Blades Do NOT Return to Stop Position
Sunday, December 23rd
1992 SVX Wiper Blades Do NOT Return To Stop Position Although the wiper blades park near the bottom of the windshield, they do not reaching the stops (stop position). While driving or seated in either front seat, the windshield wipers/blades are visible. This problem may relate to removing and replacing a fuse. I have the owners manual and service manuals. On Friday, we removed the interior rear quarter pad (driver's side) which covers power window switch. We were working on the seat belt retractor cable. It may simply be a reset. Please call me today rather than an email response. Many thanks. 858-454-2628 619-980-4586 email: hgslajolla@gmail.com

Re: Wiper Blades Do NOT Return to Stop Position
If you have a look in the owner's manual it will tell you that there is a switch near the hood release under the dash which allows you to choose between two stop positions for the wipers.
Switch that switch once and see of the wipers go back to their normal position. The setting should read "NORM" and "Winter" on the switch. I bet it is now set to "Winter." |

Re: Wiper Blades Do NOT Return to Stop Position
.
The switch under the dashboard was in the "winter" position. I think Howard accidentally hit it when he was checking fuses. He gave me a call this morning. I told him where to look and what to check for. He had to turn on the ignition to allow the wipers to sweep and reset in the lower position against the stops. All is fine now. .

Re: Wiper Blades Do NOT Return to Stop Position
Problem solved, thanks to a phone call from John Hoffman.
In working with the "under dash" fuse box the other day, my head or shoulders (sounds like a great name for a shampoo), inadvertently moved the "winter wiper" rocker switch to the "winter" position. Considering the fact that we have no winters in San Diego, the wiper blades now rest in in the home position.
