you're going to love that drive when you get over near Huck. I got my Crossfire in KY and we had lunch together. It was a great drive so enjoy yourself!

Good luck and be safe.

Re: Picking up SVX, may need phone #'s in case of breakdown

just a quick update. Things are going to be delayed. The car blew a rad hose and got coolant everywhere and engine got a little warm. After replacing the hose, he was able to start it back up and drive it the rest of the way home with no problems. But, after sitting a week, he could not get it to start although it cranks freely. I'm going to be talking him through trying to get it running again and will check back in when I know more.

Re: Picking up SVX, may need phone #'s in case of breakdown

Alright, so luckily for me since it got delayed, this now means barring any troubles, I will be able to drive up for the Pumpkin Carve.
I just booked a flight down for Wednesday Oct 20th and will be arriving in Pensacola around 11 am. I will be changing out the front hub and changing fluids for good measure, and then spending a night down there and heading up to OT's Thursday. If anyone wants to meet up for a bite to eat or whatever, let me know.

This is my current route but I don't mind going a little bit out of the way. especially if someone knows of a great place to eat.

Well luckily I'll be stopping by Huck in Somerset, KY to grab a meal and also check out Frankenwedge!

so modified route found here

Thanks for the heads up on I-81.

Quite honestly, most of you guys in the hills out east would find the highways around here pretty damn boring. That is unless you enjoy seeing nothing but fields, barns, farm animals and repeat excessively.
The only highways more boring that I've traveled is through the plains states where its the same thing, just even more flat.

I like the mid west...when it is super flat you can see for a really long distance and then you can drive faster.

It would be a shame to detour over through TN and not detour through the Dragon...

Hmm, I like your thinking... Anyone else have ideas to stop by anywhere near the route. Maybe I should have booked a Monday flight instead of Wednesday so I could check out more stuff...

Alright, so I heard there are a couple SVXi in a junkyard near Somethingelse in Fredericksburg, VA. If it works out, I'm going to try and meet up with him to pull the glass from them if the windshields are in tact.

If I end up going that way, I won't be able to meet up with you Huck, sorry.
But I'll give you a call probably Tuesday to let you know for sure.

The car is still being driven, and just this week equipped with a reman alternator from Maniac as the original blew on the current owner. I'll be getting AAA (should have had it anyway before now, would have saved me a ton of money) so that I will have a little extra security should something happen.

I will update things Tuesday before I head to Milwaukee Airport around 3:00 am Wednesday morning.

Alright, everything is set. I'm planning on meeting up with Eric in VA for a SVX junkyard run on Friday. Huck, I may still make it to take you up on getting some dinner and a run in frankenwedge Thursday. I'll give you a call sometime tomorrow Huck and give you a heads up on what I'm thinking....
