Problem

I don't know how long it's been like this but my drivers side car door unlocks just by turning it. Even with another key or a screwdriver.. what can I do?

Re: Problem

Install a new lock cylinder.

If you have a keyfob it shouldnt be too much of a problem to have a different key for the driver door.

you can even have a locksmith rekey the tumblers to match your existing key.

Re: Problem

I was thinking similar to gbianchi ... like shhhh if no one knows then it isn't a problem.

I have one SVX where one key does all and then I have another SVX that requires 3 keys. The one I am fixing up is the one with 3 keys so I am contemplating stealing the locking cylinders and ignition from the car that matches the single key. Extra work and a PITA but probably worth it in the end.

You will have to remove your interior door panel to gain access to the lock cylinder and then you can get it worked on or replaced (your call, your $$). While you have your door panel off though would be a great time to do some sound deadening and replace that old plastic inside the door with Dynomat or similar product.
