"U" joints??
is it rare for the drive shaft to go bad on a SVX?
Like "U" joints? Are replacement "U" joints available? Thanks, Keith |

I believe yt figured out a way to rebuild the SVX driveshaft.

U joints are replaceable but difficult to keep from vibrating.
Its also difficult to find a shop that will balance the shaft as well.

hi you can do what you want ,as for subaru they are crimped in to place,and non servicable ,ive seen some bad replacments with hammered over ends and even welded u joints ,if some one has found a good fitting interally locking joint id like the number of the joint too

Ok, opinions here, my rear driveline is binding with the accompanying torque shudder and freeway vibration.
Should I A). Put up with it until I can afford a "new" one, or B). Put in the FWD fuse for now, even though my driving style isnt exactly "gentle". I dont wanna blow my diff but the torque shudder is irritating. Thoughts? |
