Unhappy SVX has been sitting a bit, now can't move the shifter

The SVX has been sitting for a bit... When I started the car, the shifter was REAL hard to move.... I was able to move it (car never went into gear though ) ...
The tranny was working just fine when I parked it....
Do you think the cable is seized? Has this happened to anyone else?
What should I do????

This happens to me when it's cold. After letting it warm up, it shifts smoothly.
