No more bronze windshields?

So I informed the glass company that the only way to get the moulding that goes around the windshield is to get the windshield directly from Subaru. Well they called me today and said they can get the windshield but only in green as the bronze is no longer available. Is this true? If so is there a big difference in how the green will look compared to the bronze once installed? Also our car is Bordeaux Pearl.

Yes, there is a significant difference in the look of it. I work with a glass company and the last I checked they were still in stock at Subaru. The reason they may not want to tell you is that they cost significantly more than the blue.

The bronze glass does not come up as default for a 94, but it will come up if you punch in a 1997 SVX.

kinda pricey. Someone should get hooked up with the manufacturing companies and run a production order for new glass.

Fuyao Glass in China has made a run of SVX windshields. The part number is FW700 for the blue tint. I know they made a bronze tint, but I don't know the part number.

There is an aftermarket glass available in both Bronze and Blue made by the company Fuyao Glass (referred to in the glass industry as "FYG" brand) There was a short quantity produced and I can get them. However, they do not come with the required moulding.

The part numbers are FW700ZZN for the bronze and FW700BBN for the blue.

(First letter is tint color (z=bronze, b=blue, g=green), second letter is shade band color (there will be a "T" if it is not shaded, and third letter is a "N" or "Y" to signify if there is something bonded to the glass, in this case, a moulding, that it does NOT have.

Subaru has no blue winshields at all just green and bronze as I checked for blue when I noticed a small crack in mine a couple months ago.

When I bought my glass (blue) there were like 27 or something like that available.

Chinese windshield that is scary, don't ever roll your SVX. Maybe you can buy the windshield at Walmart.

BTW current list is 932 dollars

Just checked Subaruparts.com and if you select 2WD instead of 4WD it gives you the bronze option.
