Anyone ever heard about this
Saw this thread on the legacy forums.
The lead tech at the dealership I work at went to a subaru school...in japan. While he was there, he was allowed to view a VERY special car. It is a 1994 svx with a EJ33TT. They only made ONE, however every other 3.3 svx motor was built with identical internals. That motor was made to take boost. had they sold a few thousand more cars, they WOULD have. but they didn't and due to the sucess of the flat four turbo, they didnt feel it necesary to release a flat six turbo. I believe the CR is so high because of the combustion chamber design. Just a little gem of knowledge straight from japan.

I don't know if I believe that.
1. EG33 not EJ33. 2. In the US, the Turbo was DROPPED after the 1994MY. Success eh? 3. Only the later Legacies got EJ20TT's, and they were much later (98-99).

Um..no. just no. If they built the eg33 to be boosted, it wouldnt blow up pistons when it gets some pressure going in.
there were no ej series motors the svx was already in production in 94...Unless they haad a time machine, they couldnt base the motors from the 92's on this mythical design Where the crike hell would they fit two turbos in an svx? If they sold a turbo option, they would have sold a few thousand more...not the other way around Id call your buddy on his bs

Technically, they built an ez30 and stroked it.
Technically, the eg can still be "larger". (Both externally and internally.) Just techincally.
