If not an SVX than what..?

Probably a forum before...but what would you own instead of an SVX (if the Suby is your only car, but if not, what car would you be crazy about?)

Audi Audi Audi...

sport touring, AWD (quattro), torque upon torque, tuneable, stiff chassis, solid, and quattro...

to me quattro is the premier AWD system... it seriourly performs, and loves it when you add power...

Couple choices:

90-92.5 Eclipse GSX (turbo 2.0litre 4cylander awd with 6bolt crank)
93-97 RX-7 Touring Edition
Mark III Supra (JZA70 engine)

All in manual transmission only. I still plan to own these cars at some point, though the supra and eclipse getting extremely rare in the listed models, and thus very pricy.

VW Scirocco 16V, I've owned two of them and I love them as much as my SVX. The SVX has more interior space and that's why it won out when it was time to purchase another car.

although i just bought another svx on saturday, my desire to drive / maintain an old car is fading. ideally, i'd like to own only one depreciating asset, so my first choice is a forester 2.5xt w/ the acura rdx being a close second.

My choice would be a Mitsubishi 300GT VR4 Spyder

All wheel drive... Four Wheel Steering... 6 cylinder engine... 'nuff said!

This:

But since there are laws against a private citizen owning supersonic (never mind extremely destructive) aircraft, I'd go for a Saleen S7TT.

That's easy... a newer Volvo S60. That car handles and rides a lot like my SVX... only a little softer on the suspension. It's a great highway car. Next time... the AWD version A Saab 9-3 would definitely do the trick, though... better performance than the Volvo but with that Nordic feeling of being chiseled out of a single lump of rock instead of assembled. I had a 900 Turbo once and LOVED it.

Alternatives? Well, an Audi is an obvious one. I wouldn't mind a WRX except I don't like the way the newer ones look.

But there's nothing like an SVX. I've tried to leave... believe me I have... as my signature is testimony

Hmm.. I guess a rediculasly high powered sports car, something from my boyhood.
Not overtly high class and unobtainable. With a shred of practicality so that I have an excusse to drive it daily.

A Porshce 928 or Corvette ZR1 comes to mind. Perhaps a 300ZX twin turbo.
