Sorry 'bout the hijak

I have the same problem, and that sounds like what I need is the ecu temp sensor. How do i find it, that picture is a little too close up. Also where would i find the part/how to replace it. What is the part #?

The temp sensor is on the drivers side of the engine towards the back. Its alittle under the intake and is fairly easy to replace.

You can get one at probably any parts store, or your local stealership. It'll most likely run between 10-20$ (I got mine from Subaru for like $12).

Where is our fuel filter? I've been looking around but cant seem to find it. I also saw in another thread someone saying if the timing was off the engine would crank faster? Mine seems to be faster than normal so more and more im thinking its the timing belt slipped.

The fuel filter is under the hood right next to the drivers side strut tower.

Re: Problem starting

Fool your ecu into thinking it's in neutral all the time, cory. Should be relatively easy to give it the signal it's looking for for neutral. That'll eliminate that possibility at least.

Sorry, I never came back and finished this thread. The problem ended up being the (nearly new) platinum spark plugs would give me spark but were fouled enough to apparently keep the engine from running.

I put in some nice iridium plugs and the car started right up and has been running perfectly ever since.

I hope this helps anyone having similar problems.
