RGB dilemma

Well, it should be easy to test out the theory.

Earl suggests that the colour number may be different for foreign and US markets. This could be the case, but I doubt it. [sorry Earl ]

The reason I doubt it is because the paint mixing industry is a world-wide business, not just Subaru of America. For that reason, I think each paint code [i.e. number] will be a unique mixture. This implies no matter where you are in the world, if you give your chassis paint code to the paint mixers, they can match your paint.

My Ebony with code 235 is definitely red mica based.

Is there anybody who has an Ebony car, paint code 135, who can look closely at in in the correct light, and verify whether the car has red mica or green mica?

Earthworm, does your registry database identify any owners of cars with code 135, so we can ask them to check?

others)
think the code is 333

I think for US based cars, any 97 would be most rare
with actual numbers available, also they are
the last yr, that usually makes a car more collectable
over the yrs

Besides rares paint scheme, what about interiors and model types? probly alot eisier to narrow it down and say theres less L models than LS models (Im just guessing)
Interior colors and makeups also? Is there a digit in the vin that designates interior packages?

That is the same colour as John's [blueji] in Scotland, but his has no spoiler I'm sure. Jamsvx had this colour, and his car is now owned by another member, Jason, maybe that is his car?.

Lovely colour up close and personal. Photos don't really capture it.


97s would be rare everywhere.

Stashed in a closet in NJ at SOA headcourters. Drive Performance magazine had a peice on it a while ago. Only one like it.(They have a 22b 000 number there one of 3 zero numbers) PPG program had it longer than most PPG cars cause people liked it so much. Interior was also a "nifty" lavander/purple and dash was different in design.

I would have to disagree. Any 93 AE would have to be, because they only made 301 of them. They made about twice as many 97s.

I'd venture to say the '93 AE cars wil end up being the most valuable. Special Editions usually get more attention from collectors. The lower line cars would be the lowest overall production per year.

As for what colors are more rare, Yellow, Graphite, and the 3-Tone come readily to mind.
