Courtsey lights

Just discovered that both my driver/passenger courtsey lights (the ones underneath the dash that light up the floor mats) are not turning off? I already checked both doors, trunk and hood thinking that one of them was ajar, but the lights still stayed on. Has anyone encountered this in the past, if so I'd be interested in knowing how to fix this problem. For now, I will try to pull a fuse to save my battery.

Right in front of the sunroof controls are 4 buttons. play with those with the doors close and you should be able to turn those lights off.

Does your instrument panel show a door as being open? It sounds like you have a bad door switch.

Checked switches in overhead console, but still no luck. Tried the door switches again, still no luck. I played with the head light switch and the instrument brightness switch, and the freak'n ligts dimmed off. Now I'm confused, but glad that the courtesy lights turned off. Thanks for the suggestions, I truely enjoy this forum.

dallassvx,
My manual, Body Electrical System 6-2; indicates that the Time Control Unit, located above the glovebox, controls the following: Rear wiper intermittent; rear defogger timer; Illumination control; Interior light timer; Ignition key hole illumination OFF delay; Door key hole illumination OFF delay; Courtesy light OFF delay; Step light OFF delay ; Illumination dim cancel signal control (interconnected with lighting switch) and Built-in warning buzzer for unfastened seatbelts, key left in ignition.
Sounds like it may be failing, or just hung up. In such a case disconnection of battery electrical may allow everything to return to normal? Looks like fuse #25 runs the Control Unit.
