Exhaust / Muffler connection question..

So I was rear ended recently and the exhaust pipe to the muffler popped off.
*I have it ghetto rigged holding the pipe up in the air with a $1 walmart stretchy band job. lol*

One of the rubber supports for the muffler itself cracked and lowered it.
While going to place an order for this I noticed on the diagram a a seal bearing *44158 to be exact* for $53?!

So since I don't feel anything between the two do you guys think maybe it popped off in the accident and I have no way around paying $50 for this?
I mean, I want it to be right but $53 for a seal?

Suggestions? Sarcasm? I'm open... lol
