Another new guy checking in, found this site about 3 months ago, just before I bought my SVX.

Back on the site after having joined 2 months ago and went inactive.

Borrowed my SVX from my grandma (original owner) and fell in love with it. Unfortunately I blew something out (yet to know what) and the car was sent back to her. She fixed it and reluctantly let me begin driving it again after 2 months. I'm not going to lie, once you drive one you fall in love with it. My girlfriend enjoys driving it more than her 06 RSX. Anyway... it's a 1992 LS-L I do believe. It's also that very sexy purple color.

Hi Joe,

You are very welcome to the site.

I also would be a very narked grandma if my seventeen year old grandson "blew" something in my pride and joy.

She must really really like you to let you behind the wheel again. I'm not going to lie either, if it was my car you would be admiring it from a distance after the first blowout.

Joe

I agree with you Joe. I can't count the times someone has loaned out their car, or let someone else drive it, that it has been damaged or broken in some way.

Talking checking in

Hello, my name is Noel and I bought a 92 (not sure what Model letters) about 4 months ago. Paid 1900 and I love this car. Recently put 18 inch Motegi wheels on( no chrome) and it looks great. Upcoming projects are new struts all the way around, valve cover gaskets and then maybe new paint. My color now is green and will probably go same unless I freak out at the last minute and go for gun metal gray. This site has been great for info and thanks to all that have replied to my threads.

Here! Walking out the door to replace wheel bearing. Baby now has 87,000 miles. Few more knicks and bumbs since my 16 year old played pong with it in the garage, but still runs like a champ and still gets comments from folks on the street.

Just chiming in.

I figured i had better check in. I have a 94 LS FWD and a 92 LS-L awd which is in the process of live organ transplant to make the 94 alittle more refined.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me out so far and i'm looking forward to taking your advice in the future.

New member- need suggestions please

Hi everyone,
Just purchased a 92 LSL Touring model for just under $5000
It has 82,000 mi, and needs a few minor things . It drives pretty well, and seems pretty well taken care of.
Questions please
1- Did I pay a fair price?
2- Unsure if a timing belt was put in at suggested 60,000 mi.
I'm told that if it goes bad, the engine will be ruined.
Suggestions please.
3- When I tested it, the steering wheel adjustments were not working, and it was in the uppermost position, and I test drove it while it was loose and sloppy.
The dealer repaired it, and I now find that my 6'2' frame makes for a very tight fit with the right leg.
Question-
Can the seat and rails be re-positioned, or is there a rail extender kit.
Did I overpay? Thanks much

1 - If it's in great shape and was well cared for, then that may be a little high, but not crazy.

2 - If the belt goes, the engine will stop running, but will not be damaged. A new belt and you'll be good to go. There are lots of posts on timing belts and suggestions on what all should be done while you have everything apart.

3 - There are two levers to adjust the tilt. One on the side that adjusts between the set position and all the way up (to get in and out). The other adjustment is at the base of the steering column, in the center. It can't really be seen without sticking your head underneath. This is the one that you use to make your adjustment.

Welcome aboard.

Hi
