Broken tailgate sensor?
My aftermarket alarm system refuses to arm itself. It's obviously alive (I put the key to "on" 5 times in a row and the led flashes) and central UNlock works fine from the remote.
Central lock doesn't work from the remote and the alarm won't go on. Until I can find someone who can connect to it, I have a theory that something's screwed with the sensors. The alarm will not arm or lock any doors if anything is read as open. On the instrument panel icon I can see that both door sensors seem to be working but when I open the tailgate it doesn't show with a red indicator. Should it? If so, is the sensor a sprung plate to the left in the lock assembly?

Re: Broken tailgate sensor?
The alarm issue is solved. Evidently, the alarm is connected to the cupe lights. My bulb is out so I didn't notice that the "room" button was pressed = alarm thinks the cupe light is lit = a door is open.... Depressed it and the alarm works just fine.
I'm still curious whether what is on the picture is a sensor or not I figure it can't be central lock as one needs to open the trunk with the key or the handle by the driver's chair.
