Damn, boy, you're going to have so much power those poor street tires aren't going to stand a chance....you're never going to leave the starting line, you'll just be sitting there smoking the tires into so many tiny pieces of melted rubber

Thanks Bill. That makes me feel alot better about considering to enter...

It appears, after poking around, that I would be in STS. This is due to the cross-drilled/slotted rotors, exhuast, and rims/tires. Now I'm REALLY going to get my ass handed to me. Anyone got a set of rims/tires that they could lend me? Just about anything would be an improvment over what I have, stock dimension 16's, Yoko Avid A4's. The large sidewalls are going to really kill me...

Go ahead and enter, Bill just likes to talk smack to compensate for his slow car

Actually at all of the Subaru Challenges that I've been at, there have been a higher number of novices than a standard autocross. So this is a great opportunity for your first AX. If your car is not modified you should enter in H-Stock. If you have any modifications, post them up and we'll help "class" you.

edit: Missed your edit... Yeah, I think you would be in STS. I could be wrong, lately I spent all my time reading the prepared rules...

I was wrong, a chip is allowed in SM (Street Mod).

But a supercharger will put you into Modified.

I looked everywhere, I can't find a time listed. I have to 'assume' that I need to be there about 8:00 am. Let me know if that is NOT the case.

Jerry,
I believe you are correct - when I attended last year, I think I arrived at 7:30 AM and they were just getting going. I plan to be there this year at 7:30 also.....

Looking to forward to seeing you and all the folks ...

Harry

The SVX with those mods is in STX not STS. I run STX in mine due to many of the mods you listed. I took third in the class at the Challenge event in Indiana. Oldest car in attendance, only 6 cylinder too. 2.0l WRX rule the STX class but don't let that worry you. Head out and have some fun driving your car hard

Since I don't want to get up at 4 AM and drive 165 miles, I guess we will head out fri evening and stay with Amber and family that night. If I can 'blow off' work, we might be able to make the 'ice breaker' at the hotel parking lot fri night. Can you say 'Personal day?'??

I might have to send the kid to school with a 'note' that we will grab her up at noon.

Did you mean to post in this thread? The Mid-Atlantic Subaru Challenge is north of Baltimore, Maryland (not that I have anything against the great state of Texas, mind you)

ridered777,
definitely make the trip! Dave is right that the challenge is a great opportunity for your first AX.
