Yeah I guess that's about right. We like to drive alot
Thanks for adding that up. I hadn't done that before

So if I take the last 29 years of driving and divide it into 829k miles, I would get about 28,000 miles per year. That would have to be adjusted to account for two cars being used and for one car per driver it would come out to less than 15,000 miles a year and then it doesn't look like such a big a$$ number as that's about average Just a lot of years

Would care to estimate how many hours I have spent in a automobile?

At an average of 30mph (and I think that's pretty high even if the majority is highway miles) it's 27,633 hours or 1,151 days or 3.15 years. WOW!!!

Lemme see -- sold my first Capri with 165K on it, blew the (second) engine on my second Capri with 135K. Got almost 180K on the first SVX and 130K on the second . . . got 160K on the Caravan and (here's the kicker) sold the LTD with 365K on the clock --- that's 1,135,000. That don't even count the mileage (none of which I can remember, or never knew) on the Spitfire, Peugeot, Torino and Gran Torino , The Delta 88, the Chevy Biscayne, the Tracer Wagon and my first car, the Ford Fairlane.

Based on that vehicle list, Randy, I can see why you don't remember.

A lot of those were my wife's cars. "Necessary transportation" isn't always what you "want." It's what you can afford.

Or what my parents owned, or what my sister owned, or what my friends would let me use.
