Rubber trim on top of rear wheel well?

How do I remove that black rubber trim that is along the outer edge of the rear wheel well? The ones that sit up against the body.

On my car they are pulling away in places towards the rear, just enough to not look right. I would like to replace them sometime in the future. Or even better, figure out a way to make them sit flush with the edge.

From what I can tell it looks like it slips under the side skirt and rear bumper cover, but I'm not sure where they actually attach.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
