Honda makes a flat 6!
I was telling a friend of mine about how great the flat 6 is and that (to my knowledge) the only companies making a flat 6 were subaru and porsche. he told me honda made one.. I didnt believe him, then he pulled up a pic on the honda web site.. 1.8 L, 9.8x1 compression, 5 speed, and 3 piston calipers!

Cool looking bike. Wonder if that engine will fit in a Civic?

Engine? I'll bet the entire bike could fit in a civic.

Thats the factory engine for the Goldwing since it changed over a couple years ago.
I doubt the engine would fit in a Civic, as I figure the transmission is probably built into the engine like on most Honda motorcycles (and I would imagine other brands).

If you've ever seen a Valkyrie/Goldwing up close to a civic, they're about the same size.

The Valkerie Rune became my favorite bike the instant I laid eyes on it. It's the coolest thing on 2 wheels, IMHO. And it is one big, long, heavy bike! Maybe when I pay off the SVX I can think about buying one. I'm not sure about the Rune, but the same engine in a Goldwing has a reverse gear because they are so heavy that if you are facing downhill on any kind of incline you cannot puch it backwards by foot. They even (the Goldwings) have training wheels that lower automatically out of the saddle bags at low speeds so you cannot easilly tip it over while manuvering in a parking lot and such. Talk about a heavy bike! God forbid you drop one...You'd need a crew to pick it up!

The Honda Rune would be my next bike if I had the money. All the gold wing from their inception were Boxers, they started out in the late 70's with a flat 4- cylinder 1000cc, then bumped it to 1200cc, then made their first flat 6 a 1500cc, now they are 1800cc and have more HP than my XT6! The training wheels you're speaking of is an aftermarket product, I've seen them in use pretty neat.....but not a factory option. Well I guess I'll keep riding my old 87 Honda "Super" Magna for a few more years

Don't forget about Chevrolet
and the air cooled flat six they offered in the Corvair line. Two door (hard top and convertible), four door, pick-up, and van.
I think an EG33 in a convertible Corvair would be cool and kinda fitting now that GM owns a chunk of FHI. Todd

The Corvair was the first to offer a turbo charged model, complete with roll over rear suspension. Ask Ralph. Harvey.

Hi Harvey
I'm thinking that there are a whole lot of people in this group asking "What's a Corvair and who is this Ralph character?"
Todd BTW - my father had two Corvair Corsa convertibles and neither one flipped and burned!

Corvair
Wasn't it also the first to come standard with the 007 style oil in the face of the chase car trick

Also I believe one of the '80s Ferrari Testarosa engines was an H12.

Corvairs
The Corvair is on my all time hit parade of cars that I'm glad I no longer have to work on. Oil leaking, belt slinging, non-stopping... need I go on?
