Introducing unmetered air as a band-aid fix for a specifically known malfunction is a bad idea. Just replace the knock sensor.

for single knock sensor applications, one o2 sensor is used on one bank of the engine. this is used to manage the engine to it's roundabout efficiency. The SVX does the same thing, only controls both banks like they were individual 3 cylinder engines. One could say we have a twin engine Geo
