WTB: cheap laptop

I need a laptop to run my engine management and wideband 02 on my eclipse. I'm looking to buy a cheap laptop so that i can permantly mount it in the car, rather than have to put it in and out everytime i drive. If anyone has that old laptop that they don't use anymore and would like to sell it I'm interested.

Here are the requirements

P2 or better
1 9 pin serial port (com port)
at least one USB port
running windows 98 or newer... preferrably newer
has battery charging cable (car charger would be a bonus)
CD drive

see, i'm not looking for much

What is cheap? I don't want mine anymore, but I doubt you want to spend the money to buy mine....

You can find some good deals on ebay.

well, cheap is 100$ or so... my friend works for a local school district thats getting rid of exactly what i want, unfortunatly i don't think they're going to sell them to the public. drop me an email with how much you're looking for... how was last weekend, besides the dent?

You should be able to get something like that for about $300 max. I have one but the screen stopped working.

I just picked up a palm pilot for data logging for $5.. Just another suggestion while you're looking for the perfect laptop.

While they might not want to sell them to the public, they would probably sell them to your friend who works for them, so let him pick it up for you.

haha thats what i mean... he wasn't sure if they were going to sell them to employees. (sorry i stated that really incorrectly) He has since called me and said they allotted 20 for employees to be able to buy, so i should be able to get one. They were going to sell the laptops back to dell for 10$ apiece rather than sell them to employees for 50$ a piece...

Yeah, i was thinking about the palm (5$??? wow.. thats uber cheap), but i don't really want to deal with running dsmlink on a palm... plus my o2, boost, and egt is all computer based also...

Still looking though, because its definitly not a for sure deal yet.
