Rack and pinion replacement

Can any one give me some guidance to replace?
Tricks?
Is there a write up?
Didn't find much in my research.

Mainly because they don't give any trouble.
Why are you replacing it?

Harvey.

Re: Rack and pinion replacement

No leaking is not rare.

They leak from the seals and the pipes. I do remember some body removing one, a long time ago, it wasn't easy.

Harvey.

Re: Rack and pinion replacement

You disconnect the lines, the 4 bolts holding the mounting clamps, the steering linkage, and the tie rod ends from the knuckles and it will come right out the bottom. You may need to move the exhaust to make it easier, mine is currently out so I don't know how much clearance there is.
