Has anyone tried a Pioneer FH-X720 ?

I am ready to ditch the WRX head unit I have in the SVX. I want something with Bluetooth for hands free and music and I still want a CD. I would like to pay as little as possible for this.

I was wondering if anyone had tried this unit? Feature wise it has all I need however, I don't know if it will clear the door. I was wondering if anyone had installed one in a SVX.

Yes, a few people have installed this unit and I haven't heard anyone complain about clearance issues.
Also, in my opinion don't waste the double-din space in the car on one of these big units. Either buy a double din radio with a big screen or buy a single din radio and little single din tray to go underneath the unit for extra storage space for your phone or whatever.

I have the 3600 one of that brand. I love it, looks and works great once I figured out how to correctly wire it. Personally I dont like that model, its big and to many lights that are really bright. Like said before id stick to a single din if I just wanted music and stuff but if you want to play videos like I do go with a 6.whatever screen.

I had a single DIN with a pocket at one time. I didn't really like the way it looked in the SVX, although the pocket it was good place to put the phone. I did see that the unit could change colors and was dimable. It is kind of gaudy though.

Re: Has anyone tried a Pioneer FH-X720 ?

I ended up going with a Sony WX-GT90BT. I don't especially like the touch screen look in the SVX [to modern], or the Single DIN look which to me looks like something is missing in the space. This one seemed to fit the bill and had a more classic look than the Pioneer, plus it has a option to add XM radio.

Like anything on the internet there was both good and bad reviews, most of the negatives pointed out the display screen which doesn't bother me. I'll report back on fitment and functionality, and post some photos after it arrives.

Also I will be putting my WRX 6 Disc changer with the "svxdc" wiring adapter up for sale after I have removed it and installed the new unit. Anyone interested can pm me.
