I think the throttle bodies is just on a little hold until he becomes our hero in the other thread.

Re: Individual Throttle Bodies.

Sorry guys trying to do ten things at once. I had to buy a AC tig to weld the new manifolds after machining. Here are the images of the mill manifolds. Took 20mm off the injector one and 15mm on the main intake. Plan to add new 10 mm plates back so we can fit the 20mm throttle bodies and only gain 5mm on height. Will keep you posted as things happen.

Re: Individual Throttle Bodies.

Have made a bit progress today. Made up the new plates and started welding them to the manifold till I ran out of gase. I have left plenty of meat on the new plates as I am not sure how I will bolt them together Will shape them later. First time using a Tig on Aluminium so slow going. Here are a couple of photos.

Re: Individual Throttle Bodies.

im curious, is it throttle body size that determines air flow? like, will all 50 mm tb's flow the same, all 48s, 45s, etc? the reason i ask is because one of the generations of hayabusa came with 46mm tbs, and i read somewhere that it came with 48 and 50mm tb also, though i havnt been able to confirm thisl

just wondering because if you can get a set of them anywhere from 100-400 dollars, itd be at most 800 for two set ups, leaving you an extra 2 tbs. this may just be a stupid question, but im curious. any thoughts?

Re: Individual Throttle Bodies.

My understanding is that is they are to big the performance of the enigne at low revs gets so bad that the car is un driviable. Yhays just what I have heard.

Not all flow the same. Although dimensions certainly play a part, design is just as critical. Inlet radius and taper, throttle plate thickness, throttle shaft diameter and profile, and even the throttle plate securing screws all have something to do with the airflow the TB is capable of passing through it.

Re: Individual Throttle Bodies.

Well I'm officially going ITB's with two injectors per cylinder. The units I am going to run are 52mm diameter at the plate. I'll post pictures once the mail man delivers the first set
