my new airfilter and induction kit on order

anyone used one of these systems ?? alot of the kiwi performance 6s and 8s areconverting to this..

I have read about them or a system similar to them in the past years ago. I think Weapon R made an intake like this except it did not have carbon fiber. *Checking*
This is the type of 'cold air' shield they used.

Wish I had the link to the old threads but I remember at least one person not liking this setup. There was not a substantial power gain, maybe even a loss due to the restrictiveness of the shield itself. Air being only allowed to come in through the intake in one direction hurt flow somewhat. I need to find it before going further. It didn't catch on though as you would be seeing a lot more of these.

If what you say is true, I fear for the sanity of my countrymen.

However after a second reading, I see that hopefully it is kiwi cars which may be at fault.

My guess is that it's not much more than a coned filter with a velocity stack style exit in it for good flow. The bling factor may be there, but that might be where it will offer anything that the stock intake doesn't have otherwise.
