looking for new phone
I am looking for a new cell phone, as the time has come to update my aged one. What do you guys/gals have and what do you think about it? I am using a Sanyo RL-4920. It is 3 yrs old and has been good to me, but it is beat to hell.
I like the look of the Razor, but couldn't use it while blind folded b/c the keys are so flat and my fingers would get lost.

I have the Verizon XV6700. It's a sweet phone, but not for the standard user. I sync with my work email so I get email where ever i am, as soon as it comes in. It has a full slide out keyboard, and a giant screen. If I didn't have that, though, I'd probably go with one of these:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...edPhoneId=2869 http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...edPhoneId=2694 Pretty much anything with a full keyboard. If i'm going to be sending messages, I'm going to do it with a full keyboard.

I LOVE my Nokia N-gage QD For the $ it's the best smartphone you can get. No camera, but I own 3 digicams. I have a 256mb memory card in it, but it can recognise a 1gb. I can load a full-length movie on my phone & watch it 3-4 times without killing the battery. There's a TON of freeware out there for Nokia's Symbian operating system. Oh yeah & it plays PS1 level games

I have the LG VX9900 (aka the enV). It's a great phone with a full keyboard that can stand up to a beating.

I've got a VX9800, aka "The V", it's not quite as nice as the enV, smaller keyboard, only records 15 seconds of video, 1.3 MP camera vs 2.0, but they're a lot cheaper lol... Before this one I had the VX8100, which was nice, but didn't have the full keypad. (and I was able to migrate my 512MB MiniSD card from that phone to my new one; the enV uses a MicroSD card), but other than that it was pretty much the same phone, same camera... Before that I had the LG VX4400, which was my first Verizon phone, no camera, and it had a different interface than the newer Verizon phones, but it was a durable phone... Still works, I still have it (and my 8100) as backups lol.. IMHO the VX4400 has the best reception out of ANY phone I've ever had, plus it's tri-mode so it works in non-digital mode, where my 8900 (and pretty sure the 8100 is too but not sure) is digital-only.

What I aim for in a cellphone:
Display resolution (256K and above) Operating (i.e. Windows Mobile V6 and not symbian...) Camera resolution (WITH AUTOFOCUS, or else it is useless) FM Stereo Radio And Memory (slot chip or something) (Bluetooth, IR, Edge, etc... became standards... mostly) here is a good source: www.gsmarena.com You can always follow Landshark's method

I recently got a BlackBerry Pearl. I'm pretty happy with it. I tha a Razor before. I was looking at upgrading to the Krazor, but the Pearl was the same price. My monthy bill went up because you have to add a special data plan to use it. The only thing that annoys me is it keeps going off between 2am and 4am because my e-mail goes straight to it and It goes off as soon as I recieve a message.

I've got the Razr. I like the fact I can plug it into my PC and sync them, pull pics back and forth, take music and shrink it down for ringtones, playing Collin Macrae rally is fun, texting is simple if you are into that.
The first thing is..what are you looking for in a phone? What style are you into? Do you want the walkie-talkie function (Nextel) or just simple bluetooth? We can throw out a bunch of names, but it all comes down to what YOU are looking for. (The iPhone is pretty cool IMO...I like the functions it has and the many things you can do, but Hocrest's nephew bought 1 when it first came out and is on his 2nd-3rd 1 due to it just stopped working)
