I'm hoping this is only hypothetical because that is completely stupid for anyone to do.

First offense-lose license, dui, community time, fines, lawsuit, etc. if she lives. Vehicular manslaughter or homicide along with negligence loss of license, dui, etc. if she dies

Depends on how much he makes, probably well over $10,000 though, once he is out of the clink, be glad it is your friend and not you...

Was she walking on a road that people aren't supposed to be walking on...like a highway? That would make a big difference. Pedestrians don't always have the right of way.

Was she okay? But he shouldn't "drink" and then drive w/ a car not under insured at first. How did he get a car? Immature.

Best advice

Tell your friend to quit talking about it to everyone except his lawyer.

Tagged, because I have seen some stupid crap in my life, but this damn near takes the cake.

We want updates on what happens to this guy, cause well... Darwin apparently should have taken care of him a few years ago.

Hmmm, hard to declare how screwed it is. I had a friend killed by a drunk driver when i was 12 (she was also 12) the driver was on a suspended and expired license with 2 prior arrests for drunk driving. He crossed the median on the freeway while blacking out and hit her fathers honda at more than 80 mph (speed limit was 65 to 75 back then) She was asleep leaning on the window behind the driver. The force literally knocked her head off her spine. How much time did he serve? Not one day. He went straight to the hospital for head trauma after the accident and was released from there so he didnt even spend a night in the drunk tank. He was convicted of DUI and driving with an expired license he lost his licence for 6 months but then 2 months after the accident he was granted permission to receive a 'provisional license' which allowed him to drive himself to work. You think this happened in the dark ages before the laws were stepped up? Nope, se died in Feb. of 2000.

Based on that i'd say not much. My hope would be forced and painful sterilization followed by equally painful death but i dont get want i want 90% of the time.
