I still wish I had bought your car Alan, it's the color I want. The yellow intrigues me greatly though. Think it will look OK over a tan interior?

Here's Plan #2 instead of the Yellow. A White 928 painted to resemble a German Police Car, complete with Green trim, Blue light bar, and marked correctly. This one will be a head turner.

Heres plan #3. Get a well maintained 928, 951 or whatever other car you want thats in good shape, clean interior and exterior. And keep it that way.

Maybe add/change a few things about the car to make it more to your liking, but overall just make it the best possible representation of what that car is.

Well Greg that was kinda Plan #1 (928 S4 in original condition). Then I thought about Yellow over Black as a head turner (#1b). Then #2 came about as a Police Car conversion is actually cheaper then a color conversion. Then there is #3, the 968 or 944/951. I guess this is getting more complicated.

I found a nice 968 locally. Maybe by the time I'm ready, a nice Boxster S might fall into my price range. I like the dark blue and the silver.

Good to hear. I wish I could afford a 968. I also recommend taking a look at 90 and 91 944 s2's. They have the same 3liter engine as the 968, but with a 5 speed instead of six.

My current Porsche plan also is having problems. Looks like I'll have to wait another year to get my first P-car. I think it will be my present to myself for Xmas '06!

Actually......now that I think of it, there is a really nice looking s2 cab on ebay right now:

I found a 944 S2 Cabriolet for under $10k on RennList. I still like the looks of the 968 though. The 968 is alot like the SVX in that there were only just under 13,000 made, ever. I think I'll hold out for a 968 cab with decent miles/condition as long as it has a black interior then I can change it over to yellow.

I found a car that might make me forget the 968 Cab. A 1987 944 Turbo (951) with a dyno'd 363 RWHP, which should be close to 400 to 415 at the crank. Vette Killer! It should weigh under 3000 if I read that 944 page correctly.

If it weighs under 3000lbs, it could also be a C5 Z06 killer as well!!!

P.S. Here's dyno result from a stock '03 C5 Z06 - 340rwhp and 330 rwtq:

Sorry, here are the correct numbers:

944 Turbo (951) Weight : 3,110
HP: 217
Torque: 239

Modded 951 I saw for sale, 363 at the rear wheels. That puts it at close to 200 more then stock. I have seen numerous 951's in the 350-450hp range now that I have been looking. With a weight around 3100 lbs, she should really fly.
