Again with the keys
Ok, so when I first bought my '92 SVX the key didnt work in anything except the ignition (it had keyless entry so everything was fine). I got all new locks for it and now its fine. Today I picked up my '95 and after locking the doors at arby's I came back outside to find out the key doesnt work in the doors (its an L model without the keyless entry). It also came with the valey key after trying for 10 minutes to get the valet key to work, it finally unlocks the doors. Im afraid to lock the doors now cause I dont want to get locked back out. Would having a new key made from subaru work? or do I just have some sort of freak bad luck.

If it has the original lockes in it, you can give Subaru the VIN and they can cut a key for it. If the locks are different, they can't do much for you.

Yep if the locks were replaced the options you have a limited, a locksmith who specializes in automotive stuff might be able to cut you a key that will work in the locks, otherwise it would be time to change the locks, and while your at it the ignition so the one key works for both.

The valet key works very rarely in the door and I got the regular key to work ONCE so it is the original key, I think its just worn down from being used. I guess its off to the stealership tomorrow.
When I changed the locks in the '92 I changed the ignition also one key for everything. dustin

I know it's a common sense thing to change the ignition when doing the door locks, but you'd be surprised at how many people don't have common sense (or then again maybe you wouldn't )
I knew a guy who would change all the locks and ignition on every used car he bought cause as he phrased it "just in case cousin fred had a copy of the key"

Are you sure it's the key or is the lock siezing up?
