Antenna installation
I just bought a antenna off ebay. I removed my original antenna about 3 years ago and I completly forgot how to install it. I attempted to install it today. Connected the black(radio reception) wire, and the power wire. Upon connection of the power wire, I heard a sound from the antenna motor, but the antenna didnt budge. Tried turning the radio on and off again and still nothin. Anybody have any experience with this?
P.S. I have a aftermarket reciever, that I bought a year after I removed the antenna |

Sounds like you've been shafted (no pun intended).
Just a guess, but sounds like the plastic strip that runs up the shaft is either broken or has slipped its cog. Again, just a guess. If it isn't broken, I believe it's easy to reattach or, to put back on track. If it's stripped, then, that's another problem altogether. I certainly hope, however, that my guess is wrong and that it ends up sorting itself out.

Does the motor run continuously with the radio on or did it just run a short time and stop. If it runs continuously the problem is is mechanical and the antenna unit is faulty. If it will no longer run advise further details and try to be specific and exact.
